Public Service Through Communications
REACT Team 6006 is a volunteer public-service communications organization based in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, with roots extending back more than two decades.
Team 6006 was formally chartered by REACT International on 1 March 1999 as REACT County Victoria/St Patrick, serving San Fernando and the surrounding area.
Our purpose is built around a simple idea: reliable communications and trained volunteers can provide a valuable additional resource to communities, public-service organizations and emergency agencies.
Today, Team 6006 continues that tradition through community service, communications support, emergency preparedness, training and cooperation with other organizations.
Our History
Over the years, communications technology and the needs of our communities have changed, but the principle behind REACT remains relevant: trained volunteers using dependable communications can provide valuable support during community activities, emergencies and disasters.
Team 6006 continues to build upon that history while developing the skills, equipment and relationships necessary to remain useful to the communities we serve.
Our Mission
To develop and provide volunteer communications capabilities in support of our communities, public-service organizations and emergency response activities.
Team 6006 works to:
- Provide two-way radio communications as an additional resource during community activities, emergencies, disasters and emergency-aid operations.
- Assist community organizations, NGOs, emergency-management organizations, local authorities and national emergency operations with communications when appropriate.
- Support the reporting and relay of emergency information to the appropriate authorities.
- Promote safety, transportation information and assistance to the travelling public.
- Participate in community preparedness, public-safety and emergency-response initiatives.
- Develop responsible and capable volunteers through training in radio communications, safety, emergency response, disaster management and related skills.
- Cooperate with other REACT Teams and organizations in furtherance of REACT's tradition of Public Service Through Communications.
Training & Preparedness
Team 6006 encourages continuous development in radio communications, operating procedures, equipment use, safety, emergency response and disaster preparedness.
Training helps members develop the discipline and practical skills necessary to communicate effectively and work alongside other volunteers and organizations when required.
As communications technology evolves, the Team also seeks to develop its technical capabilities while maintaining the reliability and discipline required of public-service communications.
Part of a Wider Network
Team 6006 is affiliated with the REACT Council of Trinidad and Tobago (RTTC) and forms part of the wider REACT community.
Our constitution provides for cooperation with other REACT teams and recognizes the importance of working alongside community organizations, emergency-management agencies, governmental authorities and other public-service organizations.
Effective emergency communications depend upon cooperation. Team 6006 therefore seeks to maintain positive working relationships within REACT and with the organizations and communities we may be called upon to support.

Neil Jones R626
President
Neil serves as President of REACT Team 6006, providing leadership and coordination for the team's activities. He brings practical experience and organizational knowledge to the role and remains actively involved in the team's community and public-service efforts.
Donna Jones-Mathias R641
Secretary
Donna serves as Secretary of REACT Team 6006 and supports the administration and coordination of the team. As a long-standing member, she contributes valuable organizational experience and continuity while helping to keep the team's activities, communications and records organized.
Kenneth Mohammed R634
Technical Officer
Kenneth serves as Technical Lead for REACT Team 6006. A retired tug captain and experienced radio operator, Kenneth is a licensed amateur radio operator with the callsign 9Z4RKL and has a long history in CB radio, where he is known as “Snowman” (R634). He brings practical radio knowledge, operational experience and years of involvement in communications to the team.
Cornelius Clarke R638
Technical Advisor
Clarke serves as Technical Advisor to REACT Team 6006. An experienced amateur radio operator holding an Amateur license, he provides technical knowledge and guidance on radio communications and related equipment. His experience helps support the team's communications capabilities, technical development and operational preparedness.
